All the world's stage,
And all the men and women are merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages. At first the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms;
And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths, and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honour, sudden, and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice
In fair round belly, with good capon lin'd,
With eyes severe, and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws, and modern instances,
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slipper'd pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose, and pouch on side,
His youthful hose well sav'd, a world too wide,
For his shrunk shank, and his big manly voice,
Turning again towards childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

Logical Fallacies: Appeal to Emotion

Logical fallacies or pseudo-reasoning = something that appear to be logic but it is not.



Scare tactics:
-Used very commonly in deductive arguments, and can be quite powerful.
   
    eg: I really think it's a good idea to do whatever he asks. I've seen him fire people who say no to him.

Flattery:
- Flattery leads people to make a poor decision and to accept arguments that really have no logical basis. 


     eg: Teacher to class: "This has been the best class I've ever taught. You're always so prepared and eager             to learn! Thank you all so much. Now, I have these end-of-the-semester evaluations I need you to fill             out. I know you'll all be honest and fill them out carefully. Thank you.


Peer Pressure: 

- Peer pressure is another form of false reasoning as it is an argument that says, "Accept the conclusion, or        you wont be accepted" 


      eg: "Come on, we're all voting for the Democrat again, just like the last time."


Pity:

- An argument that asks the listener to support a cause purely for emotional reason. It doesn't directly                address.


     eg: "I know I don't have any experience, but I really need this job. My mom sick and I'm the only child old            enough to work."
